HKSPC Flag Day – Kowloon Region 2018

This year, our Flag Day was held in the Kowloon Region on Saturday, 28 July. It was one of the hottest days this summer. Yet, the heat wave did not stop the enthusiastic efforts of over 2,200 volunteer flag-sellers including individuals from different corporates and organizations, as well as students and parents from our service units.

The volunteers started selling flags on the streets as early as 7am, and returned bags heavy with coins and banknotes at around noon. With the support of the many kind-hearted people in the city, good results were attained to support our two non-subvented Children & Families Services Centres and the Centre for Child Enlightenment to provide services for more than 6,000 children and family members.

Our heartfelt gratitude goes to the organizations who allowed us to sell flags at their estates and premises; banks/retailers who allowed us to use their branches as flag bag collection depots; patrons who donated souvenirs for the volunteers and other generous donors; last but not least, all the enthusiastic volunteers who helped with the event.

The Flag Day would not be nearly as successful without their contribution.

Please continue to support us to help make a difference to the lives of the children in HKSPC’s care. There are a few more events, including Family Night and Charity Walk coming up later. Please stay tuned. Meanwhile, should you want to know more about these events or how you can help, please call 3184 6609.
