Director’s message: Change to improve care for our children

We understand that children’s health development requires cooperation between school, family and community. Our team of stationing social workers work closely with teachers at the frontline of schools and families to build a solid foundation for children’s growth.

Walk together during the pandemic
Since early 2020, Hong Kong has been severely affected by the COVID-19. Children and parents are facing challenges in their daily life and family income. Therefore, we have actively provided timely support to meet the demands of children and families during this tumultuous time.
The professional service team gives a true meaning to child care work
We need our staff to be compassionate so that the young children can feel cared and loved; sometimes like a mother who can be relied on and trusted by the young children; at the same time equipped with professional knowledge and techniques to foster their growth and development.
Join hands with families to provide professional and quality educare
HKSPC launched Parent @ Super Start (P@SS) Project in November 2018 to provide support and parenting education for families that are raising 0- to 3-year-olds, so as to create the best nurturing environment for the children at their early stage of development.
Provide timely and comprehensive support to the children with developmental challenges
Some grassroots families may neglect their children’s developmental problems due to a lack of relevant knowledge. As a result, many children’s problems leave unsolved until being discovered by experienced child care workers in preschools or nursery schools at the age of 2 or 3.
Family cooking – recalling the taste of home
Some deprived families may be unable to cook a proper meal or enjoy a meal together, so our Children and Family Services Centre in Sham Mong Districts established a community kitchen where families can cook and eat together.
The past and future of Children’s Residential Home
As society develops, our service group has changed from abandoned babies to children with serious family problems, and we are facing very different challenges to years ago.
Children and Family Service Centres: Partnering with parents in child care and development
Children and Family Service Centres value child development by different means. We encourage parents to understand children’s needs, and make effort to join hands with parents to nurture their children.
