HKSPC Children and Family Service Centre (Sham Mong District) pays particular attention to children and families’ healthy development, in the hope of making every effort with parents to nurture our next generation.

The Centre offers Kindergarten Schoolbased Social Worker service to provide a wide range of support to children, parent and teachers. New arrival Mrs. Chan faces different challenges in raising three children, in addition to difficulties in adapting new living environment in Hong Kong. Fortunate enough, one of her children, Ho Ho, studies at our Kindergarten.

Upon realizing Ho Ho ’s emotional and behavior issues, our School-based social worker Ms. Lee interfered by understanding Mrs. Chan’s family dilemma, thus offered a timely helping hand to Ho Ho. Not only did the counselling ease his emotional disturbance and enhance his learning capacity, it also provided Mrs. Chan the opportunity to acquire parenting skills.

To meet families’ and children developmental needs, the Centre provides diversified means, including Play Therapy, School Bags Library and Toy Library services, interest classes and developmental groups for young children, and talks/workshops for parents etc., assisting parents to understand children’s needs and thus develop their potential.
